What “requires escalation” means
Most UCP checkout sessions use a redirect payment handler — the agent creates the session, then redirects the buyer to your Shopify checkout to complete payment. The session status requires_escalation means the session is active and waiting for the buyer. This is the normal, expected state — it’s not an error.
